Netflix has released a new behind-the-scenes photo from Greta Gerwig’s Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew. The film acts as a prequel to the main Narnia series, focusing on the origins of the magical realm. It follows young neighbors Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer as they journey through alternate universes, leading to the creation of Narnia itself.

Following recent set leaks, rumors began circulating that the film would take place in the post-war 1950s. In an interview with Empire Magazine, Gerwig confirmed this shift from the book's original 1900

setting. The time change has drawn heavy criticism from fans concerned about future adaptations, considering The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe takes place during World War II.

The Magician’s Nephew is scheduled to hit theaters on February 12, 2027, followed by its Netflix streaming release on April 2, 2027.
