2025 Oscar Winners: Anora Dominates, The Brutalist Wins Big (Full List)

Sean Baker’s Cinderella story, Anora, dominated the oscars last night with five wins including Best Actress, Original Screenplay, Film Editing, Director, and Best Picture. Anora stars Mikey Madison as a young sex worker who marries a Russian Oligarch’s son. Anora is a fantastic film romance, often comedy, etc.

Close behind, with a total of three wins, was Brady Cobert’s historical epic, The Brutalist. The film took home awards for Best Actor, Best Cinematography, and Best Original Score. With a runtime of three hours and thirty five minutes, the historical drama spans roughly thirty years. The story follows Hugarian-Jewish architect László Tóth’s journey from first arriving in the United States to creating building commissions.

Both Wicked and Dune: Part Two received two awards. Wicked won for costume and production design. While Dune: Part Two won for Visual Effects and sound.
